Sturdy but really stiff and hard to move, November 29, 2010 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Savannah Sofa Bed Futon Frame with 8" Futon Mattress (Kitchen) I love this because it is made entirely from wood, we had one with metal under it and it broke from a heavier friend sitting on it, so this one holds up nicely. My cons are this. To lay it down is really stiff and you have to have two people to do it. One person has to lift the front end to take it out of the locking position there and the second person has to struggle really hard to lift the back of it to get it to lay down. Perhaps the more often we do this, the easier it would be, but I know that it is really hard for me to do. Also the mattress that comes with it is not wide enough. You have a rather large gap on each side of the frame that is not a good idea if small children are sitting on it. I had to stuff pillows down the sides which diminishes the appearance of the futon. Plus it's not very comfortable. It's ok to sit on, not much cushioning, but ok, but when you lay down, you know you're laying on a futon mattress. We even added a piece of memory foam under the cover but it... Read more

Great futon., December 7, 2011 This review is from: Savannah Sofa Bed Futon Frame with 8" Futon Mattress (Kitchen) We have had this futon for a year and it is great. The wood is attractive and sturdy and the entire piece is well constructed. The cushion is comfortable but it has gotten smushed over time so is not as soft as it was at first. However, whether sitting or laying this futon is still MUCH more comfortable than any other I've ever had to sleep on, especially those with metal bars. It is a great buy and was delivered to us amazingly quickly. This is a good product and we have been very satisfied with it.
